How do I set up a Raffle on GalaBid?
Raffle Setup
Setting up a simple Raffle
Here is an Example Raffle. In this example the description includes the details of each prize. This is the easiest way to set up a raffle on GalaBid.
Watch this video or read the steps below for a walk through on setting up a simple raffle.
1) Set up a campaign. Next go to the Items section in the left hand menu and add a raffle item.
Please note: One raffle item means that everyone who purchases this item will have a chance of winning any available prize(s). If you would like distinct raffle tickets for the chance to win specific prizes, you will need to create a raffle item per draw.
2) Add a name for your raffle item.
3) Enter the number of prizes available in this raffle.
This will effectively set how many winners are drawn for the raffle. This will typically be one per prize.
4) Set the ticket price, total tickets available and the maximum any one participant can purchase.
Tip: If you wish to hide the number of tickets available for sale, this option can be unticked or ticketed in the Advanced Options section (under the description box).
Note that purchasers purchase tickets for one raffle item at a time. If there are multiple raffle items available and the the purchaser purchases tickets for more than one raffle they only need to enter their card details for the first purchase. The card information is securely stored and subsequent purchases are quickly processed via a couple of clicks.
5) (Optional) If you wish to create discounts for purchases of multiple raffle tickets, you can set this up in the Raffle Packages section of the raffle item.

6) In the Item description create a numbered list of the available prizes, Prize 1, Prize 2 etc.. Add additional relevant information relating to the raffle along with any terms and conditions.
Tip: If you have multiple prizes, a numbered list will help you later to fairly match each prize to each winner drawn. The first winner drawn would win Prize 1 e.t.c.
7) Add images to the raffle item as required.
8) Save the item.
9) Go to Setup > Menu and hide or edit the FAQ to make this page relevant for your raffle.

10) Once the Raffle item is created, tickets are available for sale.
11) Under 'Auction Controls' make sure to set the Auction controls to 'OPEN' so your campaign displays as 'Running' and this will avoid confusion for your participants as this section is only for Auction items.
Important Note: Do not set an Auction Closing time if your campaign does not include Auction items. The Auction Controls Section is exclusively for Auctions.
Setting up a Raffle with a raffle ticket item and prize display items.
Another way to set up a raffle on the GalaBid platform is by using One Raffle Item Type to Sell the Raffle Tickets and Live Items to Display Each Prize in the Raffle.
Once you have created your raffle item to sell the tickets in the steps above, you can create a live auction items to display each prize on the platform. For example if you setup your raffle item with 7 prizes available, you could then setup 7 individual live auction items in order to display the raffle prizes as separate items.
These live auction items would be for display purposes only. Anyone looking to buy tickets would click on the raffle item to purchase tickets to win any of the 7 items displayed.
Tip: This option is good for a raffle only campaign with multiple prizes that wish to display multiple images per prize and create a fuller campaign site.
Here is a screen shot to show you how the raffle item is setup. In this scenario the raffle item's purpose is to sell the tickets not to display the prizes that can be won in the raffle.

To set up live auction items simply go to the items tab create a new item and select the item type 'Live Auction'. Add the prize image and complete the fields as per the screenshots below.
Here are some screenshots to show you how the live auction items' fields can be completed to be used as display items.
Bear in mind that when you draw the winners, each one will receive an automatic notification which includes the prize number they have won, so number the live auction items accordingly (item number = item code field). What Message do Raffle Winners Receive?

Fill in the Custom label and locked message to read Prize or Raffle Prize so it shows to your participants that this is a prize available to be won in the raffle.

Make sure that the 'Hide winning bidder' and 'Hide price' are ticked under the advanced options as these labels are not relevant when using the Live Auction item type to create display items.

Finally, under 'Auction Controls' make sure to set the Auction controls to 'OPEN' so your campaign displays as 'Running' and this will avoid confusion for your participants as this section is only for Auction items.
Important Note: Do not set an Auction Closing time if your campaign does not include Auction items. The Auction Controls Section is exclusively for Auctions.
